Lake Creek River DVD Preview
Our DVD-Trips accurately represent the experience we had on the rivers and share with you all the information we wish we had before going on the trip but could not obtain in our trip planning research efforts. We show you the scenery, the fish catching, the wildlife, and the river challenges.
Our goal is to provide you a viewing experience "As Reel As It Gets" in our DVD-Trips and to provide you with the information to "Know Before You Go" via our Ultimate Guidebooks.
(More Information on the Lake Creek River)
Lake Creek is a fun and exciting wild Alaska river. Just a short plane flight from Anchorage, float from the base of the Alaska range near Mt. McKinley for 60 miles to the Yentna River. Part of the Susitna River drainage, Lake Creek is home to some of the largest King Salmon in the world weighing in at over 50 pounds. Using the right techniques during the peak of the run, Lake Creek will produce 20+ kings per day to the hand. Lake Creek also has good runs of other salmon including coho, pink, chum and red salmon. Other fish include rainbow trout, grayling and northern pike.
Abundant wildlife on Lake Creek include both grizzly and black bears, wolves, moose, bald eagles and beavers.
Lake Creek is a fast flowing river with class I, class II, class III, and two sections of up to class IV whitewater. The Alaska Adventure Series DVD-Trip: Lake Creek King Salmon Float trip will let you see the river, associated challenges, excellent fishing holes, and the size and incredible numbers of king salmon that you can catch on this river. In combination with the Lake Creek King Salmon Fishing Book, you will have everything you need to greatly assist with trip planning and ensure the best chance for a successful trip by knowing in advance what you need to take, what expenses you will incur, and what to expect on the river. We spend hundreds of hours gleaning through web and print materials in addition to numerous phone conversations with outfitters and Alaska Fish and Game biologists prior to each trip. That information is condensed in the book along with our actual experience. The book includes GPS coordinates of the prime fishing holes and best techniques for catching king salmon at each location. Also included is a detailed river description and a wealth of other information to help you have a successful trip to Alaska. Like any good science, our objective in writing guidebooks and producing DVDs is to share everything we have learned and experienced so that it can be repeated. We wish all the best that life has to offer… and may it include at least one trip to Alaska!
