Aniak River DVD Preview

Enjoy a preview of the Duke Outdoors Alaska Adventure Series DVD trip: Floating and Fishing Alaska's Aniak River.

The Aniak River is a great river for a do it yourself, unguided fishing trip, or a fully guided trip if you do not have the desire or skills for a do it yourself trip. The river has large numbers of king salmon. (More Information on the Aniak River Click Here)

Our DVD-Trips accurately represent the experience we had on the rivers and share with you all the information we wish we had before going on the trip but could not obtain in our trip planning research efforts. We show you the scenery, the fish catching, the wildlife, and the river challenges.

Our goal is to provide you a viewing experience "As Reel As It Gets" in our DVD-Trips and to provide you with the information to "Know Before You Go" via our Ultimate Guidebooks.

(More information on the Aniak River)

Alaska’s Aniak River is one of the best southwest float trip options. Part of Alaska's second largest drainage, the Kuskokwim drainage, the Aniak is one of Alaska's best mixed bag fishing rivers. It supports runs of all five Pacific salmon species. The Aniak has huge rainbow trout (some exceed 25 inches in length and they are called leopard bows because of they have a lot of spots), big char and grayling (average 14 to 18 inches in length), northern pike, and even sheefish at times. The Aniak sees relatively light use compared to many of Alaska's remote rivers. It is possible, even likely to not see another person on a float trip in the section from Aniak Lake to the Kipchuk River. The mountain scenery from start to finish ranks among the best of any river we have ever floated.

The Aniak River is a long float. Depending on your start and end point, the trip can be 100 plus miles. The Aniak itself is a clearwater river and has 5 significant clearwater salmon spawning tributaries - the Atsaksuvlok Creek, the Kipchuk River, the Salmon River, Timber Creek, and the Buckstock River. In addition to the clearwater tributaries, the Aniak backwater sloughs are excellent fishing holes for king salmon and other fish.

Wildlife on the Aniak River includes bears, wolves, moose, bald eagles and beavers.

If you are planning a fishing trip to Alaska, our Alaska Adventure Series DVD: Floating and Fishing Alaska's Aniak River will give you the opportunity to see the river, the impressive scenery, the wildlife, the best fishing holes and the techniques we used to catch unbelievable numbers of king salmon and other fish. Your purchase of the DVD also includes FREE the Aniak River Ultimate Guide as a 26 page DVD insert and with this combination you will have the most detailed information available to assist with trip planning that will help ensure a successful trip. We spend hundreds of hours gleaning through web and print materials in addition to numerous phone conversations with outfitters and Alaska Fish and Game biologists prior to each trip.  That information is condensed along with our actual experience. The Ultimate Guide includes GPS coordinates of the prime fishing holes and best techniques for catching king salmon and other fish at each location.  Also included is a detailed river description and a wealth of other information to help you have a successful trip to Alaska.  Like any good science, our objective in writing guidebooks and producing DVDs is to share everything we have learned and experienced so that it can be repeated.  We wish all the best that life has to offer… and may it include at least one trip to Alaska!
